Report: MLW Wrestler Asks For Release

One of MLW's biggest names wants to be released

One of MLW’s more prominent stars is reportedly wanting out of the promotion. According to a report from Fightful Select, Alex Hammerstone has requested his MLW release amidst a fractured relationship between the two sides.

As noted by Fightful Select, Hammerstone’s MLW deal last’s for another two years to the end of 2025, although it looks as though the company will not be granting him his release at this time. Nothing has been sorted between the two sides despite talks of a buyout, as MLW want to keep him because from MLW’s perspective, they had built much of their company around him and wanted to keep their investment and a top star.”

Hammerstone had previously reigned as the MLW World Champion, but in the report the company deemed Hammerstone’s efforts and investment to have decreased since losing the belt. Hammerstone’s side has claimed a burn out, which leads to him wanting to be released. The former champion hasn’t wrestled since July, with both sides at a stalemate currently.
