More details have begun to emerge about the AEW talent meeting that Tony Khan held prior to this past Wednesday's edition of Dynamite.
Writing in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that one wrestler told him that Khan would not be a 'pushover' when it came to demands made by talent.
Meltzer added that a lot was said and that the general feeling is that the meeting 'went well'.
He went on to say that Khan opened the meeting and was fired up, talking about new talent protocols and outlining people within the company (including agents and wrestlers) that talent can go to if they have a question or problem.
He named Tony Schiavone, Pat Buck, Sonjay Dutt, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega as examples.
Khan also at one point supposedly stated that, as long as he was alive, WWE would never have a monopoly on the American wrestling business again and that he was unhappy with apparent approaches WWE have made towards contracted AEW talent.
Several top talent, including Chris Jericho, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega spoke.
Jericho talked about how far the company has come within the last few years, while the Bucks (in particular Matt Jackson) talked about how they are there to help anyone wants it and that people can come to them with any concerns.
Meanwhile, Omega was said to have been 'harder' on the talent, and showed frustration at the current situation. Some, however, took it as him being 'passionate' and trying to make talent step up, but overall it was a mixed reaction.
