A further report that Banks is indeed gone from WWE
Jun 18, 2022
Following an initial report from Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. on Wednesday night that Sasha Banks had been released by WWE, a further report has added credence to news of Banks' departure.
WrestleVotes reported today that multiple sources confirmed Giri's report was accurate, tweeting: "The word backstage from SmackDown tonight is that the report from @TheRajGiri is indeed accurate according to multiple sources. Sasha Banks has been released from her WWE contract."
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp could not confirm that Banks had been released but talent at WWE SmackDown believe she is finished with the company.
Sapp tweeted: "Numerous talent at WWE Smackdown believe Sasha Banks has been released, and both sides are just holding off on a statement. WWE has not confirmed the report as of yet, originally reported by @TheRajGiri. I'll keep working for more details or a more solid confirmation!"
As of the time of writing, there was no official word from WWE on Banks' status with the company.
Banks and tag team partner Naomi were indefinitely suspended and stripped of the Women's Tag Team Titles last month after they walked out of the May 16 episode of Monday Night Raw over a creative dispute.
If Banks has indeed exited WWE, her run will have ended after 10 years. She is a former SmackDown, Raw and NXT Women's Champion, as well as a three-time Women's Tag Team Champion.
