Report: New AEW TV Deal 'Likely' Announced Next Week

Reports suggest AEW’s long awaited TV deal could be announced in the next week

After months of meetings and proposals it seems as though All Elite Wrestling’s new TV broadcast deal negotiations could be set to conclude, with reports suggesting an agreement could be formally announced ‘next week’.

Entertainment industry newsletter Puck ran a feature on Warner Bros. Discovery and their President David Zaslav, outlining the money available to the conglomerate after saving $1.5billion due to their proposed NBA broadcast deal not coming to fruition.

The report suggests that WBD is ‘close to finalising a package’ with AEW, with an announcement possible next week - the same week AEW are set to run New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium for Grand Slam IV, an event that’s likely to have several WBD executives in attendance.

It’s further suggested that the new deal would be for four years (three years guaranteed plus an option year) with AEW programming broadcast twice weekly across TBS, TNT, and TruTV. The deal has a ‘ballpark figure’ around the $170million per year mark, with AEW believed to be shopping a separate package ‘primarily to broadcast channels’.

The two sides have been in conversation about a new package since late 2023, with reports over the past several weeks claiming that a deal was close to being done if not concluded already.
