There was reportedly a last-minute rush on AEW Collision last night as a change was made in the women’s tag team division. One week after making their in-ring debut on AEW programming, former WWE wrestler Nixon Newell & tag team partner Miranda Alize are now at the center of some controversy as a report has emerged suggesting that they refused to lose their second match in the company.

Nixon Newell & Miranda Alize were set to take on Anna Jay & Tay Melo in a losing effort on Collision last night, but a report from PWInsider has claimed that the two “balked at the booking” because of also losing their match the previous week. It is said that the pair left the taping an hour before the show and were replaced by the pairing of Hyan and Mata World. PWInsider has learned that AEW were “appreciative” of the professionalism in the two replacement wrestlers.

In a contrary report, Fightful Select has revealed some more details on the situation, claiming that Newell & Alize didn’t refuse to lose, but instead wanted more time than their scheduled three minutes. It was told to them that this would not be changed. It is stated in this report that Alize was the more vocal of the pair, though Newell was also "adamant". Talent who know the pair reached out to Fightful to claim that they felt that they should have handled the situation differently.

Since the emergence of these reports, Alize has taken to social media to claim that she has a lot to say, before retweeting and liking comments about their team needing credible victories. At this point, it is said that neither woman is under AEW contract, which is said in both reports.
