Report: Original Plans For WWE Women's Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 37 Revealed

A planned WrestleMania Night One angle has reportedly been scrapped

Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax will be defending the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships against the winners of a Tag Team Turmoil Match at WrestleMania 37.

A number of teams will face off on Night One of WrestleMania 37 to determine the challengers to Baszler and Jax, but a new report suggests that this was not the original plan.

WrestleVotes is reporting that the original idea, prior to the announced Tag Team Turmoil match, was to hold the annual Women's Battle Royal like usual at WrestleMania, but with a twist.

The two final female superstars standing in the Battle Royal, which would have happened on Night One of 'Mania, would be put together into a team and face Baszler and Jax for the titles on Night Two.

The planned angle is very similar to the idea carried out at WrestleMania 15, where Test and D'Lo Brown were the last two men standing before challenging for the WWE Tag Team Championships, losing to Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett.

Instead, The Riott Squad, Lana and Naomi, Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose, and Tamina and Natalya will battle it out for the match on Night Two.
