Pro Wrestling NOAH reportedly reached out to All Elite Wrestling ahead of booking Shinsuke Nakamura.

The King of Strong Style is set to make his NOAH return on January 1 to face The Great Muta as part of Keiji Mutoh's retirement tour. Nakamura is ultimately under contract with WWE and prior to making the match official, NOAH wanted to make sure everything was fine with AEW, according to Wrestling Inc.

NOAH then reached out to Sonny Onoo who got in touch with AEW. It was soon confirmed that Tony Khan's promotion had no issues with Nakamura working for the Japanese company.

"NOAH wanted to protect the newly developing relationship with AEW. I made sure there were no objections from various promotions," Onoo said.

AEW and NOAH have worked together in recent months, with Great Muta making an appearance during Rampage Grand Slam to save Sting. The two rivals will team together on January 22 for Keiji Mutoh's final match under the mask.
