Only months after the championship was created, the AEW All-Atlantic Title is no more as it was announced on the March 8 edition of Dynamite that the belt is "levelling up" to the AEW International Championship. Orange Cassidy remains champion and he will defend the International Title on next week's edition of Dynamite from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada against Jeff Jarrett.

The announcement on Dynamite coincided with cross-promotion for the upcoming Shazam: Fury of the Gods movie. According to Fightful Select, that is part of the reason for the title rebrand as Warner Bros. Discovery requested "something big" to cross-promote the new movie and Tony Khan had the idea to "level up" the All-Atlantic Title to the International Championship. The promotion also initiated the rebrand to "increase the prestige" of a title that is often featured in prime spots on their programming, and to have something newsworthy for the March 15 edition of Dynamite.

Fightful further noted that "AEW is always excited to do the cross-promotional work, and attempts to have newsworthy items in association with them." The plans to cross-promote Shazam: Fury of the Gods have been in place for some time and Tony Khan had the new International Title belt produced months ago specifically to promote the movie.
