Report: Reason Why WWE Has Been Stacking NXT Revealed

WWE is thinking about the big bucks with NXT

The last few months has seen a surge in attention for the NXT brand, with WWE throwing more and more main roster talents on the show and promoting the brand regularly. For instance, the likes of Becky Lynch and Dominik Mysterio have become champions in recent months, and other main roster established names like Baron Corbin, Mustafa Ali, Butch, and more have been featured on the brand.

This has seen an increase in TV ratings and a boost in show quality overall. Those ratings are a big reason as to why WWE has had a renewed interest in focusing on NXT, per a report from Fightful Select

“WWE sources said that the reason is simple, and financially motivated – WWE wants to increase their television viewership numbers on Tuesdays to better leverage a rights fee deal or package. Showing potential suitors that slight adjustments can increase those ratings benefits that. This came ahead of WWE's announcement that Smackdown would be moving to USA Network.”

The report goes on to note that there are positive feelings all around regarding this, specifically highlighting how happy they were about the numbers for Becky Lynch vs. Tiffany Stratton which provided NXT’s highest number in years.
