Report: Reason WWE NXT Deadline Match Was Scrapped Revealed

A tag team match at WWE NXT Deadline was scrapped this week

A match was pulled from WWE NXT's upcoming Deadline premium live event as Veer and Sanga rescinded their challenge to The Creed Brothers after it emerged that Julius needed further tests to diagnose a potential rib injury.

Although Julius is the one with the storyline injury, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE pulled the match from Deadline as a precaution because Veer is dealing with a minor injury and the company want to ensure he can compete at the India show in January.

WWE are reportedly planning to return to India on January 18 with a show from the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.

Meltzer said: "The story here is Veer is injured...They're trying to protect him because Veer and Sanga have to be healthy for that India show that's built all around them in mid-January, and there's a lot of money involved. They basically can't risk him being hurt to miss that show, so they pulled him from this show."

Bryan Alvarez added: "From my understanding, he absolutely 100% could wrestle, but they are being extra cautious. Anybody else in this world would wrestle with this kind of injury. It's like a broken finger or something."

Veer and Sanga were featured prominently in 2021's Superstar Spectacle - a show WWE produced for the Indian market. They main evented that show with Drew McIntyre to defeat Jinder Mahal and The Bollywood Boys.
