Report: Reason WWE Scrapped Raw Is XXX Cage Match Revealed

Becky Lynch and Bayley's WWE Raw steel cage match didn't go ahead as planned, but why?

Last night's 30th-anniversary edition of Raw saw what seemed to be a strange booking decision. Having spent much of the build advertising a Steel Cage Match between Becky Lynch and Bayley, WWE instead had Becky beaten down by Bayley's Damage CTRL stable without the match ever getting underway.

According to PWInsider, the reason behind this decision was as follows:

"Due to the Tribal Court going 'Extremely Long', the decision was made to bypass the match and go right to the angle."

'Tribal Court' refers to a segment earlier in the show which saw Roman Reigns and the Bloodline hold a mock trial for Sami Zayn. Also according to PWInsider, the original plan was for Becky to win the cage match against Bayley, before being beaten down by Damage CTRL as depicted.

Neither Becky nor Bayley are currently announced for any match on the Royal Rumble card this Saturday, but one might assume a rematch will be booked between the pair before the weekend. WWE Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair is set to defend her title against Alexa Bliss.
