Released WWE talent are reportedly planning to ask or have asked WWE to waive their 90-day non-compete clauses.

WWE released 10 Superstars yesterday, including Samoa Joe, Mickie James, Kalisto, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay and Chelsea Green. WWE Head Of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis cited budget cuts as the reason for the releases when speaking to the talent being let go.

As is common with WWE releases, former Superstars have a 90-day non-compete clause and will be paid by the company through July 14. Dave Meltzer has reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that some of the released talent have either already asked or are planning to ask WWE to waive the 90-day clauses, though. The talent are reportedly eager to get back on the market and back to work as soon as possible.

If WWE will grant their requests ultimately remains to be seen, but some of the wrestlers may well pop up on TV before the summer. A recent former Superstar in Andrade was recently let go without a 90-day non-compete clause and he is free to sign with a new promotion.
