Report: Renee Young Leaving WWE

After close to 8 years with the company...

Renee Young's time with WWE is reportedly coming to an end as Mike Johnson at PWInsider noted the SmackDown backstage interviewer handed in her notice last week and she will be leaving the company. Her final date with the wrestling behemoth is currently unknown but Wade Keller at PWTorch revealed Young's final dates with WWE could be SummerSlam weekend.

Renee joined WWE back in October 2012. Since then, the popular Canadian has held a multitude of roles within the company. She has worked as a backstage interviewer on all three of WWE's US brands, hosted her own show Unfiltered With Renee Young on the WWE Network, and been involved with other series including Talking Smack, Tough Enough, and The JBL and Cole Show.

In recent times, Young was the first full-time female commentator on Monday Night Raw from August 2018 until October 2019 before moving to SmackDown as a "special contributor." She also worked on WWE Backstage on FS1 until it was cancelled in June 2020.

What Young plans to do next is currently unknown but she has previously attracted interest from a number of networks, including ESPN.
