Report: Rhea Ripley Not Yet Medically Cleared Despite WWE SummerSlam Plans

Rhea Ripley still not cleared despite WWE SummerSlam match

Although Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley for the Women's World Championship has been made official for SummerSlam, Rhea Ripley has yet to be 100 per cent cleared for physicality, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider

Ripley will not be involved in any physical confrontations on WWE TV until she is cleared by the company's medical team. This is also why there was no brawl between Ripley and Liv Morgan on Monday Night Raw this week.

While she has yet to be cleared, the expectation is Ripley will be cleared in time to compete at SummerSlam. Ripley getting physical will continue to be teased during the build to SummerSlam but she is not expected to wrestle until the August 3 pay-per-view.

Rhea Ripley had been off WWE TV since April after sustaining a shoulder injury in a freak accident during a backstage attack from Liv Morgan. Ripley was forced to vacate the Women's World Title, which was later won by Liv Morgan from Becky Lynch.

Ripley returned on the July 8 edition of Monday Night Raw, halting what looked set to be a kiss between Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio. WWE originally had different plans in mind for Ripley's return.
