Report: Ricardo Rodriguez Joins AEW As Spanish-Language Commentator

Rodriguez is back

Former WWE personality Ricardo Rodriguez is back in professional wrestling.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported Rodriguez worked All Elite Wrestling's October 28 tapings from the Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts as part of the Spanish announcing team.

Rodriguez has seemingly confirmed the news, tweeting: "Thank you, Boston! Till the next time."

Most fans will know Ricardo Rodriguez for his run as Alberto Del Rio's personal ring announcer and manager in WWE. Rodriguez accompanied Del Rio to the ring for three years from 2010 until Alberto turned on him in 2013. The ring announcer then briefly aligned himself with Rob Van Dam during his feud with Del Rio over the World Heavyweight Championship before he wrestled as El Local and did Spanish commentary for WWE pay-per-views.

Rodriguez was released by the company in July 2014.

Following his WWE release, Rodriguez worked for various independent wrestling promotions and as a trainer at The Great Khali's wrestling school in India.
