Report: Scrypts Inspired By WWE Performance Center Stalker

A unique inspiration for Scrypts

After several weeks of teases, the mysterious Scrypts made his WWE TV debut on this week's edition of NXT, defeating Guru Raaj following a Molly-Go-Round. The character has teased wreaking havoc on WWE and he is portrayed by Reggie, who hadn't competed on TV since the September 5 edition of Main Event.

WWE found inspiration for the gimmick from a unique place in Armando Alejandro Montalvo, the man who was arrested and shot outside of the WWE Performance Center in 2015, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

"Do you remember the real stalker who was defecating on the premises and doing all that crazy stuff and he was arrested multiple times? That was the gimmick that inspired [Scrypts]. That idiot inspired a gimmick that's out there doing flips," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Montalvo was arrested in August 2015 for trespassing after refusing to leave the WWE Performance Center. This came after he had already posted several videos on his social media while in the area and allegedly smeared faeces on the Performance Center.

WWE received an order of protection against Montalvo in 2018.
