Report: 'Sense Of Doom & Gloom' Within WWE As UFC Merger Draws Near

'Doom and Gloom' within WWE at the moment

The mood is certainly dour within WWE as the merger with UFC draws closer to completion.

The WWE-UFC merger under TKO Group Holdings is expected to be completed in mid to late September and cuts are expected to take place shortly after, with Ari Emanuel and Nick Khan both stating that cuts will be carried out following the merger under the euphemism of "cost synergies."

PWInsider has reported that WWE higher-ups believe the merger could be completed in the middle of September and employees will be fired by WWE "almost immediately" after the merger is done. This has created a "sense of doom and gloom among some WWE employees" as the feeling is everyone who isn't involved with WWE talent or production is open to being let go. A long-time employee noted WWE and UFC won't need two distinct travel offices, accounting departments, and other parts of the business.

Such is the fear of cuts that a number of employees have been quietly looking for other employment and they are hoping to exit the company ahead of any TKO Group layoffs.
