Report: Triple H "Obsessed" With WWE NXT UK Star Ilja Dragunov
A push could be on the horizon...
Since the creation of NXT UK, Triple H has been heavily involved in the brand's operations, similar to NXT at Full Sail University, whereby he holds a prominent position on the creative team.
The Game's involvement will seemingly lead to a larger push for Russian star Ilja Dragunov, as according to Alex McCarthy at talkSPORT, Paul Levesque is "obsessed" with him.
McCarthy wrote on Twitter: "Shawn Michaels is said to be 'big' on Jordan Devlin and wants him to defend the cruiserweight title across all brands [WON]. To add to that, I spoke to a WWE official in Texas who said Triple H is 'obsessed' with NXT UK's Ilja Dragunov. 2020 seems like a big year for these guys."
Since signing for WWE in February 2019, Dragunov has been presented as one of the biggest stars on NXT UK. He pushed Cesaro to the limit in their match at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff back in August, and since then he has largely been involved in the main event scene. He also tangled with former Universal Champion Finn Balor at Worlds Collide during Royal Rumble weekend in another losing effort.
