Report: Troy 'Two Dimes' Donovan Fired By WWE Over Failed Drug Test

Troy 'Two Dimes' Donovan was reportedly let go after failing a drug test

Troy 'Two Dimes' Donovan was fired by WWE because he failed a drug test, according to a recent report.

Dave Meltzer noted in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Donovan was told about it after working the first night of the NXT live event tour on June 10.

The report went on to say that WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis told Donovan that he should apply for a job to return in 'about a year'.

Of course, since then Laurinaitis' own position within the company has come under scrutiny due to the misconduct allegations levelled against him, with some reports suggesting he could be replaced.

After being let go, Donovan tweeted: "Thank you to everyone who's reached out. Mistakes happen and lessons are learned. A bump in the road doesn't define me though. I'll be back".

Two Dimes had only been a part of WWE since March of 2022 and he had been aligned on NXT with Tony D'Angelo and Channing 'Stacks' Lorenzo prior to his release.
