Report: Tyson Kidd Taking Time Off From WWE Due To Neck Issues
Stop the flare up
Feb 11, 2022
TJ 'Tyson Kidd' Wilson hasn't been backstage at WWE TV tapings for several weeks and the reason for his absence has seemingly been revealed.
Dave Meltzer previously reported that Wilson had asked for time off and he confirmed in today's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Kidd is away from TV to help his neck heal.
Kidd suffered a career-ending neck injury during a dark match with Samoa Joe in June 2015 which resulted in the former WWE Tag Team Champion having to have his C1 and C2 vertebrae fused. He later tried to make a return for a Royal Rumble Match but WWE wouldn't clear him.
Meltzer noted that Wilson was lucky not to be in a wheelchair following the 2015 match and while Kidd is able to function, his neck is still "in terrible shape" and can flare-up.
Initial reports noted that Wilson may have quit WWE several weeks ago but Meltzer stated this was just due to a miscommunication and he remains on good terms with the company.
