Report: Unhappiness Within WWE Over Shane McMahon's Producing Of The Royal Rumble

Negativity towards Shane

The Men's Royal Rumble wasn't particularly well-received by fans and unhappiness with the match extended to many within WWE, according to reports.

Ringside News noted following Saturday's pay-per-view there was unhappiness within WWE over Shane McMahon's role as lead producer of the Men's Royal Rumble, with a "tenured member of the creative team" telling the outlet McMahon "openly buried Jamie Noble" and was confrontational about wanting to book the Rumble around himself.

McMahon's actions and him booking himself to eliminate Owens and be one of the last men out of the match reportedly made the WWE locker room "really angry" and "even people who don't normally complain are complaining loudly today."

Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer has since noted "the stories about negativity toward McMahon regarding the men's match are pretty accurate."

Meltzer confirmed Shane was a producer for the Men's Rumble and he was given the job of producing the match by Vince McMahon. Shane previously helped produce the 2020 and 2021 Men's Rumbles but he was more hands-on with the 2022 match.

In other Shane McMahon news, The Boy Wonder will reportedly be in action at the upcoming Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania pay-per-views
