Tom Segura on WWE Raw

There was a great deal of unhappiness within WWE over comedian Tom Segura's appearance on Monday Night Raw, with it being noted the unhappiness stretched from producers to talent to WWE HQ.

Segura on a 2020 edition of the Your Mom's House podcast called pro wrestling fans "f*cking r*tards" and "completely r*tarded." He also questioned why anyone over the age of 11 would watch WWE TV.

Segura appeared on Raw alongside Bert Kreischer to promote his Netflix show, Bad Thoughts , and Segura's past comments were acknowledged on Raw, with Segura admitting he's said "some stupid things" in his life. He was convinced to attend Raw, though, following Bert Kreischer's previous positive experience and Cody Rhodes appearing on Segura's podcast.

WrestleVotes reported on WrestleVotes Radio that Segura appearing on Raw was a Netflix call and there were several within WWE who were unhappy with the appearance from the comedian.

"We are told several in the company were unhappy with the appearance of comedian Tom Segura this past Monday at Raw. Years ago, Segura made several disparaging comments about the wrestling business…While the few we talked to understood it was a Netflix call to have him on the show and from all accounts he was respectable while backstage, many within the company didn't appreciate the fact that someone who was on record with these negative ideas and feelings towards pro wrestling could just walk right in and shake hands," WrestleVotes said.

Celebrity appearances on WWE programming have been common since Raw began airing on Netflix at the beginning of 2025. The most notable has been Travis Scott, who even interfered in the main event of WrestleMania 41 to help John Cena win the Undisputed WWE Title. Scott has even been training to wrestle with Booker T.
