Report: Update On AEW Creative Team Following Will Washington Hire

What does the AEW creative team look like now?

An update on the structure of All Elite Wrestling's creative team has emerged.

The promotion used a committee for AEW creative until the end of 2019 when Tony Khan decided to take control of the pencil after the promotion were beaten for the first time by WWE NXT in the Wednesday Night Wars. AEW creative has since operated with Khan on top and the AEW CEO has a number of people he seeks advice from.

The AEW creative process recently underwent a change after former podcaster Will Washington was hired by AEW as the Administration Coordinator. Part of the role sees Washington oversee continuity and assist with long-term creative.

Dave Meltzer clarified in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Tony Khan remains the booker and he has the outlines for upcoming shows. The two key individuals assisting Khan with creative are QT Marshall and Sonjay Dutt. In addition, the likes of Pat Buck, Jerry Lynn, Christopher Daniels, Dean Malenko, and the newly-hired Will Washington were a part of the creative meeting last week.

Speculation had suggested that Washington was Tony Khan's new number two on creative. That isn't the case but, as noted, he is a part of the team.

Top stars like Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, MJF, Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, FTR, and CM Punk also have significant input in their programmes.
