Report: Update On AEW Star's Injury Status

An update has been provided on Rey Fenix's return to the ring

It was reported over this weekend that one half of the Ring Of Honor World Tag Team Champions Rey Fenix is set to take some time off from AEW and ROH due being “banged up” with injuries, though there was no timeframe set on when his return to the ring would be.

There has been an update on Fenix though, as Mike Johnson of PWInsider has noted that, Rey Fenix is currently advertised to face Gringo Loco for Chicago's AAW on May 6th. That could be his return date to the ring.”

Fenix has recently pulled out of other events, so it remains to be seen if he will also have to back out of this one too, or whether he is dead set on competing. This would mean that Fenix’s absence from the ring only stretched for around a month, rather than any extended period of time. If Fenix is in fact ready to go, it is undoubtedly good news for both AEW and ROH.
