Report: Update On Drew McIntyre After Being Pulled From WWE SmackDown

Latest on Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre was set to be in action on the December 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown and team with Sheamus to challenge The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships. McIntyre has since revealed, though, that he is medically disqualified from competing and he won't be wrestling this week. Butch has replaced McIntyre as Sheamus' tag team partner.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, McIntyre is legitimately injured but he is only expected to be out of action for a couple of weeks. McIntyre will reportedly be back for the shows around Christmas Day.

McIntyre has only wrestled once since his involvement inside WarGames at Survivor Series on November 26. He competed the next night at a WWE house show. Irn Dru still wanted to wrestle on SmackDown despite his injury but WWE would not allow it.

The two-time WWE Champion has been a regular presence on Friday Night SmackDown throughout 2022 and he has feuded with the likes of Baron Corbin, Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, and Karrion Kross on the blue brand.
