One of All Elite Wrestling's top stars won't be gone for much longer.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been away from AEW since the post-Double Or Nothing edition of Dynamite on June 1, a show in which he demanded Tony Khan fire him. MJF has since been removed from the official AEW roster page and he has not been mentioned on TV.

The Salt of the Earth's hiatus came after he no-showed the Double Or Nothing Fan Fest due to frustration with his AEW contract. A flight was later booked for MJF out of Las Vegas but he did not board the plane. Friedman, instead worked his scheduled match at Double Or Nothing with Wardlow, even doing an aeroplane motion in the ring.

Many believe the situation over Double Or Nothing weekend began as a shoot but turned into a work.

Updates on Friedman have been few and far between in recent months but Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter today that MJF is scheduled to return "somewhat soon."

An exact date is unknown but there has been speculation that Friedman will get involved in the AEW World Title Unification Match between CM Punk and Jon Moxley on next week's edition of Dynamite. If that will be the case remains to be seen, though.
