Report: Update On R-Truth Following WWE NXT Injury

Latest on R-Truth

R-Truth could be set for a significant stint on the shelf.

The popular 50-year-old was in action on Tuesday's episode of NXT as he faced Grayson Waller in the opening match of the show. Truth suffered an injury, though, after he went for a Flip Dive over the top rope but didn't clear it, with his knee hitting the rope. R-Truth was then escorted backstage by WWE's medical team following a commercial break and Waller was declared the winner.

The injury came at a time when Truth had been featured more on TV, appearing on Monday Night Raw in a segment with Baron Corbin and JBL. He has also been booked on Main Event in a new tag team with Shelton Benjamin, taking on Duke Hudson and Von Wagner.

Truth's latest run on TV looks to be over, though, and Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it is believed Truth suffered a quadriceps tear. This would ultimately be a very serious injury that will keep him out of action for several months.

The likes of Kevin Nash, Triple H, and Vince McMahon have all suffered high-profile quadriceps tears and the injury kept The Game and Nash out of action for close to a year.
