Report: Update On The Rock's WWE WrestleMania 39 Status

While an in-ring return for The Rock has appeared to be close in recent years - with it initially appearing The Brahma Bull would be in action at WrestleMania 38 - the Hollywood star has yet to appear inside a WWE ring since 2019 and he hasn't competed inside the squared circle since he defeated Erick Rowan in six seconds at WrestleMania 32.

The Rock may well return at WrestleMania 39, though, and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment wants to perform at next year's edition of 'Mania and face Roman Reigns. 

"The situation with The Rock is - it's exactly what you think. The belief is Rock wants to do it. They believe that is the probable main event, but they are all well aware that there are things that could get in the way and it could not happen, but the working idea is that match for Roman Reigns against The Rock for Los Angeles (WrestleMania 39). But it is absolutely not etched in stone by any means," Meltzer said.

The Rock and Roman Reigns have discussed facing each other on several occasions in the past, with Rocky noting it would be an honour to face his cousin on The Grandest Stage Of Them All.
