Report: Update On WWE's Plans For Brock Lesnar Vs. GUNTHER

WWE don't think GUNTHER is ready to slay Brock Lesnar

GUNTHER and Brock Lesnar are set to be involved at WrestleMania 39 in April as Der Ring General will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus or Drew McIntyre (or possibly even both of them), while Lesnar will go one-on-one with Omos.

A match between GUNTHER and Lesnar was briefly considered for the Show of Shows in late 2022 but the plan had been scrapped by December 2022. WWE switched to their current plans for GUNTHER shortly after, while Lesnar had a carousel of planned opponents until WWE finally landed on Omos.

GUNTHER and Brock Lesnar did have a showdown during the Royal Rumble and a match between the two competitors is still being talked about within WWE. According to Sports Illustrated, the belief within WWE is that GUNTHER "needs another year before conquering a star the calibre of Lesnar."

A match between the two men may well take place at WrestleMania 40, which could firmly cement GUNTHER as one of WWE's top stars in a passing of the torch moment.
