Report: Update On WWE's SummerSlam Plans For Cody Rhodes Vs. Brock Lesnar

A stipulation reportedly won't be added to the WWE SummerSlam match

The feud between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar looks set to come to an end this week when the two wrestlers go one-on-one for the third time at SummerSlam on August 5.

The match is set to be a straight singles match but the expectation was that a stipulation would be added to the match following rumours this Summer that a Texas Bullrope Match, along with other stipulations, were under consideration for the blow-off between Rhodes and Lesnar.

In an update, though, Fightful Select has stated there are no plans to add a stipulation to the match and a stipulation won't be added unless "something changes" ahead of SummerSlam. It was also claimed that a stipulation match was never pitched for SummerSlam, nor was adding one considered heavily due to an agreement within WWE that Cody vs. Brock III didn't need a stipulation.

Rhodes and Lesnar have been feuding since Brock turned on Cody to close out the Raw after WrestleMania 39 back in April. Rhodes won their first match at Backlash, while Lesnar picked up the win in their second contest at Night of Champions in May, one week after he gave Cody a storyline broken arm.
