Report: Update On Xavier Woods' WWE Injury

Back on the road

When fans can expect Xavier Woods to return to WWE TV has been revealed.

The 2021 King Of The Ring winner has been out of action for the past few weeks after he suffered an injury to the plantaris muscle of his calf during a match. Woods noted on a G4 live stream he picked up the injury while hitting a DDT from the outside into the ring.

In an update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted Woods is expected to go back on the road with WWE beginning with Friday's episode of SmackDown in Kansas City. His New Day faction-mates Big E and Kofi Kingston are scheduled to be in action on the show against Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss ahead of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Saturday.

Upon his return, Woods is expected to be touring with the company going forward but if he has been cleared to wrestle is currently unknown. The multi-time tag team champion was initially expected to be on the shelf for four-to-six weeks.
