Report: Vince McMahon Currently Setting Up New Entertainment Company
Vince McMahon's post-WWE plans revealed
Oct 29, 2024
Vince McMahon hasn't simply retired since his resignation as TKO Executive Chairman earlier this year.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, McMahon is in the process of setting up a new "entertainment hub company" based in Los Angeles. The organisation would financially back and develop movies and TV shows. McMahon won't be re-entering pro wrestling, however, and there are reportedly no plans to launch a similar company to WWE.
Former WWE COO Brad Blum - a McMahon loyalist - is working with Vince on the new project. Blum served as Vince McMahon's chief of staff while he was WWE CEO. Blum remained with WWE until May 2024, with many in the company believing he tendered his resignation to work with McMahon in another capacity.
Kristen Prouty, the former WWE Senior Vice President of Entertainment Relations, is also working with McMahon on the new company. Prouty served as WWE's liaison to Hollywood and other outside celebrities until she was let go in May 2024 as part of post-merger cutbacks.
One close confidante of Vince McMahon's not involved in the new project is Kevin Dunn.
The current plan is to officially unveil the new company if McMahon's legal issues are resolved. McMahon is currently a defendant in multiple lawsuits, including a suit that was filed earlier this year by Janel Grant against the former WWE CEO, WWE, and John Laurinaitis which accused McMahon of sex trafficking, sexual assault and physical and emotional abuse. McMahon was forced to resign as TKO Executive Chairman after the lawsuit was filed.
The 79-year-old was also named as a defendant in the lawsuit filed by five former ring boys last week over sexual abuse by Mel Phillips.
