Report: Vince McMahon Did Rob Gronkowski's Dive During WWE WrestleMania 36 Rehearsals To Show The NFL Star It Was Safe

At WrestleMania 36, New WWE signing Rob Gronkowski betrayed his best friend Mojo Rawley and captured the 24/7 Championship. His title win came after he dived from a platform at the WWE Performance Center onto 10 wrestlers and covered Rawley when he was unconscious.

Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful revealed it took some time to convince Gronk to do the spot at The Showcase Of The Immortals, and one attempt to make the three-time Super Bowl Champion feel more comfortable involved Vince McMahon doing the dive himself during rehearsals. The 74-year-old reportedly then stood up and said, "Not so bad, is it?"

Sapp also revealed that The Gronkosaurus was "terrified" before the spot and the reason the angle was so low during the WrestleMania 36 broadcast was because Gronkowski bent his knees and dropped from the platform "like a toddler jumping into the pool for the first time."
