Report: Vince McMahon Implemented Late Creative Changes At WWE Raw

Braun Strowman vs. Randy Orton was removed from the show

WWE Raw underwent late creative changes on Monday evening after Vince McMahon reportedly arrived 'significantly late' to the creative meeting.

WWE had advertised the first-ever singles match meeting between Braun Strowman and Randy Orton all week for the April 19, 2021, episode of Raw, but the match was pulled from the show without explanation. Orton would instead face Riddle while Strowman was inserted into Drew McIntyre's developing feud with T-BAR and Mace.

Fightful Select is reporting that the decision to not have Strowman vs. Orton on the show was one of changes put forward by Chairman McMahon, who arrived for the creative meeting 'significantly late'.

That report is further backed up by PWInsider, who suggest that the decision to change what was happening with Orton and Strowman had been made by the time the production meeting began and that the call was made by McMahon himself.

Orton would be beaten by Riddle in his replacement match, while Strowman and McIntyre would lose by disqualification to T-BAR and Mace.
