Report: Vince McMahon Was A Big Fan Of Matt Riddle's Promo On WWE SmackDown

On last week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Matt Riddle opened the broadcast with a Q&A with Michael Cole. During the interview, Riddle revealed he doesn't wear shoes because of an incident when he was on holiday in Wisconsin. The King Of Bros explained he loved swimming in the pool and playing outside in the snow, but one day he spent too long outdoors and developed frostbite in his toes. He was quickly rushed to the hospital and they managed to save his toes, but every time he puts shoes on he has a burning sensation which is why he doesn't wear them, even when hanging out with a bear.  

Paul Davis at WrestlingNews.co reported Vince McMahon loved the story so much when Riddle first told it to him that he let the former NXT Tag Team Champion use it on SmackDown. McMahon also has faith in The King Of Bros ability on the microphone and he is allowed to give more suggestions to WWE creative than other Superstars.

Davis noted back in November that a source told him Vince sees a little bit of Shawn Michaels in Riddle. The source said: "Vince likes guys like Shawn who have that rebel mentality and he sees some of Shawn in Matt. Matt can rub some people the wrong way but he's a good guy and he will do great when Vince calls him up. I think he's a future world champion. Vince will try to tweak him but his personality will get him far."
