During All Elite Wrestling's short history, multiple former WWE Superstars have signed with the young promotion including Matt Hardy, Brodie Lee, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. A number of wrestlers have also admitted to speaking to AEW before re-signing with WWE. Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson mentioned on Countdown To F#cktown they were close to jumping ship before the wrestling behemoth made them an offer they couldn't refuse, and The Rated-R Superstar Edge previously revealed he held talks with Tony Khan's promotion following SummerSlam 2019.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio "virtually everybody" in WWE has called up AEW to gauge their interest at "one point or another." One Superstar who hasn't, however, is Roman Reigns as Meltzer noted he hadn't even inquired about a possible deal.

Meltzer said: "Roman Reigns is not going to AEW. Not happening… Virtually everybody in WWE, including guys who have claimed different, at one point or another have called up people in AEW trying to see what they can get or have had interest… But Roman Reigns was basically of the top guys he was the only one who never even inquired. So he ain't going anywhere."

A current WWE Superstar has disputed Meltzer's report, however, as Braun Strowman reached out to Jake at Heel By Nature and said it was "fake news."
