MJF’s recent AEW return has reportedly pleased some at Warner Bros. Discovery

MJF is back in AEW, and as he’ll tell you himself MJF is a ratings draw for AEW.
It seems that it’s not just bluster from ‘The Salt of the Earth’ as a report from Fightful Select suggests that execs at Warner Bros. Discovery are happy that MJF has returned to AEW TV, with Friedman being viewed as a consistent ratings success for the company.
The outspoken former Pinnacle leader is a surefire future world champion, especially as he has the Casino Ladder Match Poker Chip guaranteeing him a future shot at the AEW World Championship, but his future is the subject of much speculation with his current AEW deal widely believed to be expiring in early 2024.
MJF returned to AEW at All Out 2022 earlier this month, winning the aforementioned Casino Ladder Match as the masked ‘joker’ participant, before making his formal return after the conclusion of the CM Punk vs. Jon Moxley main event. Friedman had been absent from AEW TV since June 1 after cutting a profanity-laced ‘worked shoot’ promo on AEW President Tony Khan on Dynamite.
