Report: Who Was Behind The Censoring Of WWE Raw Revealed

Netflix were behind the censorship of WWE Monday Night Raw on August 31, it has been revealed, with False Finish reporting the streaming service made changes to Raw due to restrictions in several countries where the WWE series is broadcast on Netflix.

Heavy edits were made to this week's Raw, most notably the backstage attack of The Usos by Royce Keys and OTM, with Jey Uso's whole face and other spots of blood being blurred out on the broadcast. Solo Sikoa's bloody face was then censored later in the broadcast, while Jacob Fatu's expletive-laden promo was largely bleeped out on Netflix.

An uncensored version of the show-opening attack was posted on social media by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque in response to Netflix's decision to censor Raw, False Finish noted.

Netflix have often made changes to Monday Night Raw since WWE's flagship show began airing on the platform in January 2025. Changes in recent months include Becky Lynch's line about Liv Morgan sleeping with Dominik Mysterio being removed from the replay of the August 3 edition of Raw, while Royce Keys' bloody mouth was covered on the same episode.

The go-home edition of Raw before SummerSlam, meanwhile, removed Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar giving each other the middle finger, while a black bar was placed over Lesnar's t-shirt to cover the "Sh*t" in "Talk Sh*t, Get Hit." Boos were also added to the replay broadcast for Judgment Day's attack of Joe Hendry and Danhausen.

The hope from fans upon the move to Netflix was WWE TV would have less censorship but that has been anything but the case. Raw carries a PG rating in the United States and a 12 rating in the United Kingdom.
