Report: Why Charlotte Flair Wasn't Pinned At WWE NXT TakeOver: In Your House Revealed

It's all part of a bigger plan...

At NXT TakeOver: In Your House, Charlotte Flair defended the NXT Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai. The Queen had the match won after she locked in the Figure Eight on Ripley but Shirai hit the Australian with a Moonsault out of nowhere for the 1-2-3.

Some questioned why Charlotte wasn't pinned, especially if she wasn't going to remain on the black and gold brand going forward, but Triple H said it was part of the company's long term plan for the 11-time women's champion.

Dave Meltzer revealed why Charlotte didn't eat the pin in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter as he reported WWE wanted to take the title off her but keep her strong because of her position on the main roster. This is also part of the company's wider plan to push Flair as the top female star in the company going forward.

What The Queen does next remains to be seen, but she is seemingly being set up for a future Raw Women's Championship match with either Asuka or Nia Jax, possibly as early as Extreme Rules.
