Report: William Regal Officially Returns To WWE

William Regal back in WWE

Following his exit from All Elite Wrestling, William Regal has officially returned to WWE, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

Regal officially started back with WWE on Wednesday, January 4. He reportedly returned to the company in a Vice President role.

Regal previously worked for WWE for 22 years between 2000 and January 2022, first as an in-ring talent before he became one of the key figures in NXT as Director of Talent Development and Head of Global Recruiting. Regal was fired by WWE as the company looked to move away from Triple H's vision of developmental but Paul Leveseque's rise to WWE Chief Content Officer in July 2022 paved the way for Regal to return.

The Gentleman Villain joined AEW following his WWE release, forming the Blackpool Combat Club, but Regal was allowed to leave AEW at the end of 2022 after Tony Khan agreed not to renew his contract. As a condition of his departure, Regal is banned from appearing on WWE TV in 2023.
