Report: WWE Believe They Can Sign Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega to WWE?

Could another Executive Vice President from All Elite Wrestling be set to jump ship to WWE?

According to Fightful Select, there has been plenty of chatter within WWE about Kenny Omega and several within the company believe they have a chance to sign the 39-year-old. The Best Bout Machine is said to have had a positive relationship with WWE, especially with Triple H, stemming from their talks in late 2018. Triple H held talks with Omega and The Young Bucks at the time but The Elite opted to found All Elite Wrestling with Tony Khan and Cody Rhodes.

There has been no official confirmation about when Omega's AEW deal expires. Tony Khan has been overheard saying that Omega has "substantial injury time" that could be added to his contract. No time is believed to have been added to Omega's deal as of yet, though, and there are no guarantees that any time will be added.

A report from Dave Meltzer on the F4W Online Board back in September of 2022 noted that Omega's AEW deal expires in February 2023. Should AEW opt to add time on, his contract would expire at the end of 2023. The former AEW World Champion spent nine months out of action due to multiple injuries between November 2021 and August 2022.

Fightful Select further noted that their sources don't believe WWE reached out to Omega as part of any alleged contract tampering.

Kenny Omega has been one of the promotion's top stars during his AEW run. He is a one-time AEW World Champion, one-time AEW World Tag Team Champion, and two-time AEW World Trios Champion.
