Report: WWE Considering Releasing Longtime NXT Superstars

More names on the "chopping block"

Further talent cuts could be coming to NXT.

WWE have made major cuts to the NXT roster in 2021 and the likes of Bobby Fish, Mercedes Martinez, Killian Dain and Bronson Reed have been let go already this year.

More cuts could be made in the near future, though, and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE are considering releasing Superstars that have been with NXT for a "long time."

Meltzer said: "I've heard names on the chopping block. You don't know until it happens but I've definitely heard names. A lot of the guys who've been there for a long time, those are the names that have been talked about."

Talk of releases comes following the news that Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard will be in charge of NXT production when the show resumes live tapings on September 14. The WWE chairman and Prichard reportedly won't be involved in the minutiae of NXT but they will be "behind the big decisions" going forward.
