Report: WWE Could Change Their Stage Set-Up For Some Events

WWE could be looking to change up their stage set-ups

As has been seen numerous times over the last couple of years, with notable examples including WWE’s UK events like Clash at the Castle and Money in the Bank, stadium shows like the Royal Rumble and SummerSlam, and also Backlash in Puerto Rico, WWE has opted for a much smaller stage set up.

After WrestleVotes noted that WWE chose to not do this at their recent Madison Square Garden show because it's “not what they do” amidst a surge in recent ticket sales and interest in the company, Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has indicated that the smaller stage set-up could be used for smaller TV events.

“There is at least talk of doing a smaller stage at some arenas or TVs where the advance is strong. It was never really talked about because the 12,000 to 13,000 max at the major arenas with the current staging was more than they were selling except for PPV shows. But now, there are many shows where they can sell more than 15,000 like they did in San Juan and London and could have probably done in MSG.”

It would make sense for WWE to capitalise on arena sell-outs by adding more seats.
