Report: WWE Cutting Costs For WrestleMania 39

Streamlining ahead of a potential sale for WWE at WrestleMania 39

WWE are making cutbacks for WrestleMania 39, with the show set to emanate from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on April 1 and April 2.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite, WWE are in "streamlining" mode ahead of WrestleMania and that has caused some events to be pulled from WrestleMania weekend. More backstage staff will also be working remotely from WWE's offices in Stamford, Connecticut during Mania and international commentators will call the action remotely instead of from inside SoFi Stadium.

WWE's community outreach events won't be affected by the plans and multiple staffers will be in the area to coordinate those events.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that cuts are being made to "increase the profit margin of the show in getting the company ready for a sale." WWE has been up for sale since Vince McMahon forced his way back into the organisation and was elected Executive Chairman in January.

WWE are set to meet potential buyers next month ahead of the first round of bidding for the company.
