Report: WWE Had "No Interest" In Using Kushida On The Main Roster

No interest in a WWE main roster call-up for Kushida

While several talents made their way to the main roster during Kushida's stint with WWE, The Time Splitter wasn't one of them and he spent the entirety of his run on the company's developmental brand, NXT.

That seemingly wasn't set to change for Kushida either as Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE had "had no interest in him on the main roster." Kushida's potential in NXT was also said to be limited as WWE wanted bigger, younger talents who could cut better promos than the Japanese star on the Tuesday night show.

Kushida signed with WWE in 2019 and he recently departed the company following the expiry of his contract. Vince McMahon's organisation reportedly believe The Time Splitter is set to rejoin New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

The Time Splitter enjoyed considerable success during his first run in NJPW from 2010 and 2019 and he left the promotion as a six-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion with Alex Shelley.
