Report: WWE Has Discussed Holding Evolution 2 On August 30

The all-women's pay-per-view could be set to return...

Earlier this week, Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful reported WWE had discussed holding a WWE Network special on August 30.

He tweeted: "According to PWInsider, WWE Summerslam will take place at the WWE PC. I've been told in recent weeks there was also talk of a WWE Network special the following weekend, but I don't know the status of that now."

Sapp noted the current status of the special is unclear, but PWUnlimited provided additional details on the event last night and reported the company had discussed reviving the all-women's pay-per-view Evolution for the week after SummerSlam. They also noted Tessa Blanchard will likely make her WWE debut at the event if it goes ahead and she signs with the company.

Even if WWE decides to proceed with plans for a network special, however, Evolution 2 could still be scrapped and the company would run SummerSlam 2020 over two weeks instead.

The first Evolution was held back in October 2018 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. The show was widely praised by fans and featured matches like Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai, Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane, Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing match and Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella.
