Tony Khan made a major announcement on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite and the AEW President revealed he had bought Ring Of Honor and now owned the promotion and its extensive video library.

Reports in recent days noted that multiple parties were interested in purchasing ROH and one of those was seemingly WWE.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE became interested in buying ROH when the promotion announced their hiatus in October of 2021 and both sides opened negotiations over a possible deal in December. For an unknown reason, though, talks broke down without a deal being agreed to.

This isn't the first time WWE tried to purchase Ring Of Honor. Triple H reportedly wanted WWE to buy ROH in 2018 and the two promotions briefly held talks, only for Vince McMahon to decide he wanted to purchase a bigger company.

What is next for Ring Of Honor under Tony Khan remains unclear. The promotion's return show, Supercard Of Honor, is still currently scheduled for Friday, April 1.
