Report: WWE Higher-Ups Very Happy With Response To Backlash

WWE happy with Backlash

WWE held their first pay-per-view in Puerto Rico for 18 years on May 6 as Backlash emanated from the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan.

The show, in particular the hot crowd, has been widely praised and that happiness has extended to WWE management. Fightful Select has reported that WWE higher-ups were "extremely happy" with the reaction to Backlash in Puerto Rico and the numbers associated with the pay-per-view.

WWE will look to continue a similar trend moving forward, with it being noted that fans should expect more specialised and localised events from the company when they make sense.

According to reports, WWE talent are hoping that Puerto Rico becomes the permanent home of Backlash.

Along with a main event match that saw Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar face off in singles action for the first time, Backlash was headlined by a San Juan Street Fight between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest. The match saw the WWE returns of Carlito and Savio Vega.

Speaking exclusively with Cultaholic Wrestling, Savio Vega revealed how his WWE return came together. Find out more here.
