Report: WWE Interest In Anthony Bowens

Recent contracts news has noted that AEW’s Anthony Bowens had an expiring deal with the promotion, with his contract expected to be up by the start of October. It was unknown at the time whether any talks had been ongoing between the former World Tag Team & Trios Champion and AEW to come to an agreement on an extension. When it comes to his future, Bowens may have more than one option. 

On the back of this news, it was noted by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there was reportedly at least some interest shown in procuring Bowens by WWE. Bowens formerly wrestled one match in WWE all the way back in 2016, losing to the Authors Of Pain in an NXT bout where he suffered a concussion, ruling him out for several months. Prior to signing with AEW, there was also some reported interest from WWE in bringing him in. 

Former tag team partner in The Acclaimed, Max Caster, is also reaching the end of his AEW deal on October 1, though nothing has emerged as of yet about potential outside interest.
