Report: WWE Interested In Signing Former MLW Talent

WWE might add a former MLW talent to the roster

WWE are interested in a free agent following the end of their deal with Major League Wrestling.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter there have been internal discussions about Richard Holliday within WWE.

Holliday began his career back in 2015 and he was a part of MLW from 2018 until his contract expired in April 2023. He is a former MLW World Tag Team Champion, having held the gold with MJF as part of The Dynasty. Holliday was featured as a top star in MLW in 2022 until he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in June of last year.

He took time off to undergo treatment and Holliday has since announced the cancer is in remission. The 30-year-old is set to make his in-ring return at an independent wrestling event on June 10 before his GCW debut on July 8.

Meltzer also noted that WWE have continued internal discussions about bringing in Tama Tonga. News of WWE's interest in the Bullet Club original emerged back in January 2023 and Tonga has since done a stretcher job at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku in early May.

If WWE will sign either talent is unknown. The company has reportedly been under an unofficial hiring freeze since the start of the year.
